What is DMR?

Digital mobile radio (DMR) is an open standard defined in the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and used in commercial products around the world. Nearly every manufacturer of two-way radios builds products to this standard.  This standard defines how transmissions are sent and received in digital.  The biggest benefits of this standard are improved audio communications, increased useable range, and the ability to have two transmissions on the same frequency at the same time.
